HOW TO INTEGRATE HAR SYSTEMS WITH WEATHER SENSORS

HARWIS

MH Corbin has recently partnered with RWIS manufacturers to develop specialized atmospheric and pavement sensors that incorporate RWIS technology into new or existing HAR Systems. Named the HARWIS, this all new system alerts both drivers and Traffic Management Centers in real-time of road weather conditions.

Sleet, snow, ice, heavy rain and fog forecasts are formulated using RWIS algorithms, then drivers are alerted before and during dangerous conditions to recommended alternate routes through synchronized broadcasts and alerts.

MH Corbin has developed these fully scalable HAR/HARWIS systems to be installed anywhere, from the most remote highways to the most congested parkways. MH Corbin HAR/HARWIS systems are component based for cost savings. Upgrades can be added at any time. Video, radar speed sensors, and high water detection are just a few of the limitless options for expandability within the HARWIS platform.

Future HAR/HARWIS Systems will also include Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communications. MH Corbin has integrated DSRC/Wifi/4G technology into HAR/HARWIS platforms to allow a roadside site to communicate directly with V2I equipped vehicles.  This communication will allow drivers to instantly receive real-time atmospheric and pavement conditions, as well as current HAR broadcasts.

With technology improving at the most rapid pace in generations, companies with the know-how to build reliable, scalable and upgradeable systems will lead the way to help reduce congestion and increase safety of the world’s roads. MH Corbin takes pride in developing products for not just today’s road, but tomorrow’s road.
